Paulo's method is fantastic. Full disclosure: Paulo and I have been teaching Brazilian students with this method for over a year. The big difference between his method and more traditional ways of looking at bridge instruction is that he focuses on the right habits, and so enables the budding player to get rid of self-imposed obstacles towards growth. The improvement in all of our students is amazing and a great pleasure to behold.

One of the reasons I count so many Brazilians among my bridge friends is that they are fun to hang out with, love life and love bridge, a game at which their skill level is very high. Now you can take online lessons with some of the best!

After more than a year of steady growth under Paulo's advice, I never cease to be amazed at the depth of his bridge knowledge, and at the ease with which he can convey it to players of all levels. I can see glimpses of vistas that are far beyond my own skills, but he always brings it down to an actionable, practical tip that helps to improve my game immediately.

Paulo is by far the best tutor I have seen. He understand how the game looks like from your own viewpoint, regardless of your own skill level. He manages to make the 'lesson' fun, in the very best sense, while remaining unbending in his mission of 'implanting the bridge chip' in his student, i.e., of making him learn how to think in general, not only how to solve the specific problem. Paulo is brilliant, focused, understanding and an absolute delight to learn from.

Watch this 25 min video to get the full presentation of our method:
After many decades of playing bridge at the highest level, being a coach for Brazilian national teams (Open, Ladies, Youth and Senior), and teaching students of all levels, I have developed a method that attacks the core issues that prevent bridge players from playing at their best level.
You see, the difficulty in bridge is not only technical (by which I mean, cardplay maneuvers, bidding systems and conventions, stuff like that, which you see in many websites and articles, including ours). The best bridge players are smart, obviously, but they are not (necessarily) the smartest people in the room. And, conversely, very smart people often stumble at bridge, to a point in which it becomes frustrating for them, since they are used to having success in intellectual activities, but can't find how to "break the code" in bridge.
It all goes back to the foundations of your bridge game. If you are a good player, chances are that you had beneficial early relationships with mentors at the beginning of your bridge life. They didn't teach you stuff such as "how to make a double squeeze" -- what you learned from them, by watching them, was "how to think in bridge terms". If you don't think you are as good as you should be, if you believe you have the requisite knowledge but not the proportionate (good) results, it is very likely that you haven't been exposed to mentors that taught you (often unconsciously) how to get your brain used to bridge reasoning.
Now, the good news is that this skill is teachable. And by focusing on it, you can, in effect, "install a new app" in your brain software that will forever change the way you look at bridge.
It requires work and dedication on your part. It is not as easy as reading a book. The whole point is that you can only learn it by doing it yourself. But in our program you get (a) the theoretical path from A to B, the knowledge of how to actually do it, and (b) the support from mentors and other students that will enable you to persist until you master it.
After 12 weeks of practicing the right habits, your brain will have learned a new way of thinking, and you will never forget it.
If you want to give your game a jump start after a long stagnant period, schedule a non-committal, free consultation with us, and we will be able to advise you further.
