Regarding board 6, Marcelo Branco explained that he was protecting against a singleton honor in East and a subsequent overruff (in clubs) by West. He judged that possibility to be greater than the actual hand, since East had declined to support diamonds, which he might have chosen if he had a void and 4 card support (as was the case).
As usual, Branco has excellent reasons for the line he picked, and the hand is a very tough one.
